Example itinerary for a typical Footnotes Workshop Day
School Assembly
A 15 minute slot at the beginning of the day gives me a chance to introduce myself and begin a rapport with the students. I can also introduce the idea of visual thinking.
Individual Class Sessions
During the main part of the day I usually spend approximately 40 minutes with each class, having identified a specific need with the class teacher. I introduce the Footnotes visual thinking techniques and their basic application.
Follow-up Session
Those students who particularly benefited from the techniques shown in the class sessions can be followed up later in the afternoon with more targeted input.
INSET session
The day can be finished with a 90 minute staff session, getting feedback from teachers and offering further resources. This is a great time for questions and discussion.
