Summer Villa Drypoint Engraving The villa is near Nimes, said to be the hottest town in France. The artist wanted to capture the weight of the heat in the late afternoon sun in midsummer. The plate was so hot that it burnt the artist’s hand, and he was only able to produce it in the middle of the day because he had the pool to cool down in all the way through production.
